Alton Farmstead is exactly what it sounds like – a farm! It is just outside of Columbus in Galloway, Ohio. The farm is a beautiful plot of land with flower gardens, rustic buildings, and lots and lots of open fields and space. They are a working flower farm and do flower workshops on the weekdays! They are considered a historic barn venue – so perfect if you’re looking for a barn wedding!
Their website showcases a lot about them which you can find here. Described as naturally-beautiful, relaxed, and gorgeous, it definitely has a lot to consider! Options include a vintage horse-trailer converted into a bar, exclusive access to all of the fields, lots of parking, full choice of vendors, pet-friendly, and multiple options for receptions and ceremonies!
This event was hosted in the springtime and was hosted by Thyme and Details, a wedding planner based in Columbus. There were four setups that (so with four couples!) all with unique stylings and settings. It was such a fun day to get together with other creative vendors and stage wedding scenes for the purposes of creating photographic magic at Alton Farmstead!
Megan and Kory were the first couple. Megan had on a beautiful dress and Kory had on a dark blue suit. We spent time with them outside of one of the ceremony areas. She had on a flower crown which she looked absolutely beautiful in! I loved the contrast of the dark barn and the light coming in – this was a great spot for photos!
Jacob and Chase were next – they were such a sweet couple that brought their three dogs! Each dog is blind and just ended up being so incredibly adorable! This scene also featured glamping tents from the popupbnb! It was just a cool setup for Alton Farmstead (so something I would look into if you consider this venue!) I also totally recommend having your dogs in your wedding!!
Next up was Alejandra and Rachel – we spent time with them over in the reception space. There was some lovely décor set up and some amazing details! I love details photos for weddings – taking the time to photograph shoes, invitation suites, rings, ribbons, and more! It’s a nice perk to have in your gallery!
These two were sweet together. I also loved the spring florals! (Once again, a center vibe at Alton Farmstead!)
I took some time to capture some of the beautiful flowers and Jacob and Chase again in front of the mobile bar!
For the grand finale, we photographed Sadie and Trevor. Sadie had an absolutely gorgeous blush gown with a flower crown. We also staged a full ceremony, bridal party, and other sentimental moments from a wedding day. Why would a bunch of vendors do this you wonder? Because it gives all vendors great photos for their portfolio that resemble a real wedding!
As the sun began to set we got some amazing “blue-hour” photos. That is the period after the sunsets where it’s very blue out!
