Thinking about planning a wedding is tough and when trying to find your venue, it can be difficult trying to pick something that isn’t cookie cutter! Below are some of my recent favorite unique wedding venues in Cincinnati that I’ve personally photographed a wedding or a styled shoot at! I’m here to tell you some of my favorite things about each of these venues. Cincinnati is such a perfect city to consider getting married in. I’ve also listed some honorable mentions (these are venues that I think are worth consideration, but I haven’t yet photographed an event there!)
These venues are in no particular order!
Mojave East is such a neat unique wedding venue in Cincinnati. It’s inspired by the California desert and provides just such a different feel and vibe than a lot of other venues in the area. It’s in the southeast corner of the city and very accessible if you’re in the Kentucky area. What I love most about this venue is the exterior ceremony area – it’s very open and bright and has a gorgeous teal barrier around it that gives some unique color contrast.
I’ve also heard great things from brides who have gotten married at Mojave East. I have photographed a styled shoot at this venue (which you can find out more about in my blog here).
Definitely a great venue to consider if you like clean, neutral color palettes and a fun and different vibe to your day. You can check out their website here.
Who doesn’t love a cool art museum? Cincinnati has one of the best in my opinion and definitely offers up a great option for a unique wedding venue in Cincinnati. They offer a lot of different spaces within the museum to have a ceremony and talk about great photo opportunities! The outside of the art museum is stunning and the inside is absolutely gorgeous too. I think the uniqueness just comes from the museum’s excellent architecture and beautiful ways of showcasing art.
I photographed a styled shoot at the Cincinnati Art Museum in January of 2023. While it was a little too cold to be photographing outside, the inside was spectacular! They have an abundance of information on their website, so check them out if thinking about a wedding here at this venue! Their website is located here.
You might be wondering how a hotel could be a unique wedding venue in Cincinnati? Don’t be fooled! It has so many unique picture options for couples on their wedding day! I photographed another styled shoot here in February of 2023. And there were so many fun places to take couples for photos!
I got to take my very own elevator shots (and the hotel was very much ok with it!) along with just walking through the hotel to take different perspectives along the way. The hotel also has an art gallery, a rooftop, a gorgeous foyer, a fun bar, and lots of trendy and unique furniture all along the way. The venue is incredibly accommodating and has been great to work with from a photographer’s perspective!
You can find more about them at their website here.
Peterloon Estate was somewhat of a dream unique wedding venue in Cincinnati I’ve wanted to photograph at for a long time. And I finally got my chance in the spring of 2023! This venue is so incredibly unique, stunning, and has that old-timey charm. It feels elegant for sure! The drive up to the venue is unique on its own.
It was built in 1928 and was inspired by European castles and estates. The inside of the estate is amazing and the outside is surrounded by gorgeous garden. You won’t feel like you’re in Cincinnati, but certainly some part of England! If you’re thinking about something that feels like it’s from another time, you have to check them out! Their website info can be found here.
So while many of the venues I’ve mentioned above, I’ve photographed styled shoots at, I’ve actually done a full wedding at Indie Hollow (check out the full blog here!)
If you love the outdoors and are just seeking to plan a wedding that is all about being outside around a lush beautiful landscape, definitely check out Indie Hollow! Their ceremony area is right off a lake, they have a fantastic large wedding tent to facilitate an outdoor reception, and even their guys getting ready area is somewhat outdoors!
This venue also provides a full day of coordinator to couples (talk about service!) so that is definitely something to consider when thinking about finding a wedding venue in Cincinnati! More about their website can be found here.
I’m sure if you live in the Cincinnati area you’ve heard of Jungle Jim’s. But, did you know they host weddings at their event center? Most probably wouldn’t think of a grocery store (well, we all know that Jungle Jim’s is more than that!) for their wedding, but their event center is amazing. I photographed a wedding here in the summer of 2022. The space is fully inside (so hello air conditioning if planning a summer wedding!) and there’s lots of photo opportunities!
The Oscar Event Center is also incredibly accommodating and kind! They were really attentive to the couple (and also me as the photographer!) They let us take photos in the wine cellar and other neat spots as well. Definitely something to think of if searching for a unique wedding venue in Cincinnati!
My blog that goes over the full wedding day can be found here and their website can be found here!
I hope you found this blog helpful! As promised here a few honorable mentions (these are venues I haven’t yet photographed at, as of May 2023, but would love the opportunity to do so!)
