It was a beautiful fall day for this couple’s wedding at The Ohio Barn in Fairborn, Ohio

Pre-Wedding

Talk about a beautiful fall day at this venue outside of Dayton Ohio: The Ohio Barn. The trees had mostly all turned yellow and orange and provided the most amazing backdrop for a sunny, fall wedding in mid-October. We started the day getting ready with the bride and groom. The Ohio Barn is also a bed and breakfast and the getting ready area is in that area. Kaitlyn had two bridesmaids and her mom helping her in the morning. I had so much fun spending time with the girls, photographing their details, and doing some critical moments of getting the dress on with mom.

Fun fact about this wedding – it had a Star Wars theme! When browsing through the photos below, check out those adorable ring boxes that say “I love you” and “I know.” So cute! The colors for their wedding were black and purple. The “bouquet” was a themed after the movies as well. The couple decided to do a first look (which I’ve written in an earlier blog, is a great idea to do!) and also a first look with the bride and her dad. I love father-daughter first looks – they’re usually emotional and and a sweet moment of the day.

Ceremony

The ceremony is under some beautiful trees at The Ohio Barn. Talk about an ideal area for photos! The trees create nice diffused lighting perfect for photos. It’s great not being in bright sunlight for a ceremony – so I really like how this venue found a spot that really makes the photos pop!

The couple of course had Star Wars music play as they walked down the aisle! They had a short ceremony with their officiant dressed as a Jedi. It was great! They also took shots during the wedding of a root beer flavored whiskey – they swear it’s delicious and it sounds great!

Reception

After the ceremony, we took a few more photos of family and then headed over to the reception. That’s a great thing about this venue as well, everything is right there! The reception is in the actual barn. The couple served City BBQ for dinner (love this – it’s actually really good food for a wedding!) There was lots of fun and dancing and once the sun started to set, that’s when the light sabers came out for a staged exit. We also did some sunset photos with the couple and bridal party – including doing some fun photos themed from the movie. Overall it was a beautiful fun day at the Ohio Barn!
