It was a warm summer day in August of 2021 when this bride and groom said “I-Do!” The Inn at Oneonta provided a great wedding venue for the day. It’s nestled right in Northern Kentucky, and right on the Ohio River. It’s perfect for those who are looking for an outdoor wedding, with a bit of southern and midwestern charm mix.
We started the day getting ready inside the house. The groomsmen and bridesmaids have their own separate area to get ready in. The couple did their first look outside of the house on the covered bridge area (absolutely beautiful!) and then bridal party and family photos were done outside of the house on the lawn. One thing you’ll notice is that every spot at the Inn at Oneonta is beautiful for photos!
Another favorite part I enjoyed about the day was the color scheme chosen for the wedding. The girls wore beautiful green dresses and the accent color was bright pink. I love bright color patterns for summer weddings – just makes everything so fun, especially for the photos. When thinking about color choice, go with a color that speaks to you but that will also photograph well! It also works if you match the season – therefore bright and vibrant colors work great for summer.
The ceremony is a beautiful spot, with huge trees surrounding the guests. It’s also right off the river. The couple enjoyed an unplugged ceremony (a personal favorite of mine) with a personal family friend as their officiant. The best part – their ring bearer was their Corgi! He walked down the aisle all by himself and presented them the rings (they were on his collar). It was so cute and perfect! I love when couples incorporate their pets into their day. There are even vendors that will help you watch your pets during the parts of the wedding they’re not needed!
After the ceremony, we finished some family photos and additional photos of the bride and groom. We then headed for the reception, which was also outside on property at the Inn at Oneonta under the tent. We also had fun with paper confetti (this type of confetti is easy to clean up, since it’s strips of paper that stay connected to the confetti wand). It was an absolutely beautiful day and I recommend this venue for anyone searching for an upscale wedding off the river!
