About Sharon Woods

Sharon Woods is an old park nestled right in Sharonville, Ohio. You wouldn’t think driving down the road right off the interstate would be such a lovely spot to take pictures! It’s an old park with over 700 acres available. This tends to be a very popular photography destination for photoshoots of all kinds (maternity, family, senior, engagement, and wedding!) As a wedding and engagement photographer, this is of course what I am focusing on.

Very close to the parking lot (when you turn into the main entrance of the park and make an immediate left) is a beautiful set of waterfalls that are very walkable and accessible to get to. You can walk down a small hill to even stand in the rocks and near the falls (just be careful as it can be slippery!) I find that this is a great area to take photos!

There are also lots of other areas in the park. There’s a big bridge that you’ll be able to see in the photos below (it’s hard to miss!) that’s also a great spot to walk over and take photos. On this particular November day, the light was definitely best on top of this bridge. The park also contains large evergreen trees and other tall trees great for people who just love nature and what that featured in their photos.

About the Engagement Session

Samantha and Steven are engaged to be married next June! What a world of difference it will be from now (November) to June, meaning the change of seasons. It was a pretty chilly day but that didn’t stop us from having a great time and trying out different places in Sharon Woods for their pictures. They did choose to change outfits and I liked that they picked some brighter colors – it definitely helped bring life to their photos since by this time of year, the leaves were all off the trees (although we did find one tree still hanging on to its yellow leaves!!)

I start most engagement sessions with an easy walk – this allows couples to ease into their photo session and not go into instant posing! We walked down the sidewalk path, took photos in front of the falls from up above, walked over the bridge. For their second outfit, we focused more on going down into the falls area, taking photos there. These two love hiking and nature and so I think I caught them in their element!
