If you recently joined the group of Ohio Brides looking to plan your wedding, trying to plan your big day is daunting! As a bride, finding wedding photography can be one of those. Especially figuring out where to do your photos. I personally feel the entire state of Ohio is beautiful and there are so many options! I’ve lived in the Cincinnati area for seven years, and I couldn’t love it more. I love to travel and have seen many cities in the USA, but I honestly believe we live in one of the best regions in the USA. Cincinnati and Dayton have so much to offer as far as photography spots. Here are just a few of my faves.
Some of you may know that I got my start in my family photography before transitioning to wedding photography – hence the family photos below. 🙂 This blog was written in 2021 and does showcase some of my older work. Check out my newer work here!
This park is probably one of my faves! It’s great year-round as it offers big beautiful evergreen trees (hello, Christmas session!). There are also several hiking trails surrounding the park. But, the best part is the wide open field of golden grass that is perfect for those golden-hour sunset shoots. Perfect for those gorgeous bridal photoshoots!
It’s also where I did my branding photos!! Look at the golden glow!
Devou offers an absolutely lovely overlook of the city of Cincinnati. It’s also a huge park! There are multiple hills for gazing out into the horizon, and many spots to just run around and chase each other through the green grass. It’s also not as crowded as some other parks in the city. I wrote about it more in this blog, which you can check out here!
The first time I saw Music Hall, I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the building was. It’s truly a great place to capture photos and offers a spot to give a bit of a city feel, but not as industrial or skyscraper feeling. Washington park is full of beautiful flowers, and oh yeah, a good place to grab a beer!
This isn’t really a specific location, per se, but Yellow Springs, OH just outside of Dayton, offers a few parks that are absolutely breathtaking. Think waterfalls, nature trails, and river views.
Note, if you choose this Park, there will be people there! But it’s a great park to give off a great city vibe. And the views! Smale Park is situated next to the Roebling Bridge, an iconic Cincinnati structure. Along the park is the beautiful Cincinnati skyline.
These are just my top 5 favorites, and I’m also always exploring and finding new areas to consider. Have your own idea or suggestion? I love client ideas!!
