A beautiful summer wedding held at the Oscar Event Center at Jungle Jim’s. Pre-ceremony photos taken in OTR and George Rogers Clark Park.

I first spoke with Karli and Joe the summer before their August 2022 wedding. Karli eagerly described her dream wedding as being heavily Cincinnati themed and they were super excited to celebrate their big day at a Cincinnati staple: Jungle Jim’s. Not everyone knows that Jungle Jim’s (a grocery store) has an event venue for weddings! The Oscar Event Center has a great reception hall for the perfect party. They also do ceremonies too!

Pre-Ceremony – OTR and George Rogers Clark Park

We started the day off with getting ready at an Air-bnb in Over-the-Rhine, a Cincinnati neighborhood. Karli loved the idea of getting photos near downtown Cincinnati in order to capture their hometown as part of their day. The Air-bnb she chose was perfect for photos! To get light and bright photos, you need a light and bright space! It was a perfect spot with a large space, beautiful windows, white walls, and hardwood floors. Side note, if you’re stuck on finding the getting ready spot, let’s chat!

The guys got ready at a separate location and we met at George Rogers Clark Park in Covington, KY (across the river from downtown Cincinnati) for their first look. We started the day with a first look with Karli and her dad – and it was lovely moment between the two of them. We then did the first look with Karli and Joe, and it was so sweet! I love first looks – it gives the couple such a nice moment between one another. After their first look we went into photos with the bridal party and family. We finished everything before the ceremony!

Ceremony Time! Oscar Event Center

We left for the Oscar Event Center and got there with plenty of time to spare. We took their family photos on the balcony right outside the ceremony area. Their ceremony was so sweet (and it was nice that it was indoors on a warm summer day!). After the ceremony, the venue was so kind to take us some of the best photo spots – which included the wine cellar! This involved walking through the store to get there, and that was a fun moment to see all of the store’s patrons wave and congratulate the couple as they walked through.

Reception – What a Party!

The reception started and was kicked off by the band the Naked Karate Girls. They made the reception a lot of fun! Lots of dancing and singing and fun had by all. For dessert the couple served Buzzed Bull Ice Cream – if you haven’t tried it, it’s amazingly good!

All in all, it was a fun day, and the venue was extremely accommodating and helpful. I can’t emphasize enough how sweet Karli and Joe are and how fortunate I was to be there! Congrats to them!
