Kate Legters is a Cincinnati-based wedding photographer that covers many different regions in the tri-state area (that includes Northern Kentucky weddings!) In addition to Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, she covers Louisville, Lexington, Dayton, Columbus, and Indianapolis.
This wedding day had several locations involved – so if you’re planning a Northern Kentucky Wedding and looking for vendors, use this blog to guide your way! As you can see, this bride and groom planned an absolutely beautiful day. As a Northern Kentucky wedding photographer, this was a set of amazing venues and locations to capture, bright and fun colors, and an energetic bridal party!
The day started off with the bride and groom getting ready at separate locations, a first look at a their house, photos at a special location in Northern Kentucky, ceremony at Generations Church, and reception at Boone County distilling. Read on to see all of the beautiful parts of the day and full vendor list below!
Leading up to the ceremony, the bride and bridesmaids got ready at a nearby hotel. This type of hotel room worked out perfectly as there was lots of light coming in! I started with photographing details such as the bright flowers, perfume bottle, rings, and shoes. I loved all of these details so much! The bride (Sydney) then got her dress on and wow! As a wedding photographer, I love this moment – just seeing it all come together.
We then did a bridesmaid first look – which is always a sweet thing to add into the day. After a few finishing touches we were ready to leave to meet the groom (Josh) at their house!
The guys had a bit of fun leading up to the first look – hanging out in the backyard and getting their boutonnieres pinned on. It was a hot day so we took lots of breaks inside!
The couple chose to do their first look right in their backyard – it was so sweet! They wrote letters to each other and they read those first. Then they turned around for the big reveal – Josh definitely cried! It was such a sweet moment. We then got ready to leave for the next part of the day.
We got special permission to photograph at Caintuckee Acres (as a Northern Kentucky Wedding photographer – I always be sure to scope out the photo restrictions and requirements beforehand!) This particular location the bride found and is private property. The owner of the property, after a phone call with the bride, graciously allowed to photograph on her property! We were so fortunate because wow! It was a beautiful farm with a gorgeous house.
We started across the street with some fun photos right in front of the barn and then headed to the main house across the way for some fun photos with the bridal party and then the bride and groom. I just love how their colors came out in this!
It was time to go to the church! Generations Church in Independence, Kentucky was the location of the ceremony. We started with a first look between Sydney and her dad and then went into some family photos. Then it was time to walk down the aisle! It was such a special ceremony!
After the ceremony it was time to head to a Northern Kentucky wedding venue – Boone County distilling. We captured a few photos of their cake and details, and then some fun sunset photos! This was definitely more relaxed part of the day – a great way to finish a beautiful Kentucky summer wedding.
