Minster Weddings: Where to Get Married

Macy and Alex chose a great set of locations for their wedding day! The wedding festivities took place in Minster and St. Henry Ohio. So, I’m writing this to help anyone who may be planning Minster weddings! This section of Ohio is the far west part of the state, almost bordering Indiana. It is fairly rural, but is a beautiful part of Ohio – lots of open countryside, beautiful houses, and nice people.

Part One: Getting Ready & Ceremony

Macy and Alex got married in Minster, Ohio at the St. Augustine Catholic Church. We started the day with getting ready. Both the bridesmaids and groomsmen got ready at the church. There was a separate building where the ladies got ready while the guys hung out on one side of the church (so it was totally easy to keep them separated!)

We grabbed some photos of Macy getting her dress on and some fun moments with her bridesmaids. The guys enjoyed some time outside prior to the wedding. I also love their chosen color scheme! Alex wore a green suit and the girls were in a terracotta orange.

The couple chose to do a first touch instead of a first look. We placed them in front of the church to do this (the church has a beautiful set of steps outside!) Then it was wedding time! Their ceremony was at 1pm and they had a full Catholic mass. It was a sweet ceremony and then we opted for some fun church photos inside and out. Just a beautiful afternoon wedding in Minster!

Part Two: Bridal Party and Couple Photos at a Park

Macy really loves nature and she knew she wanted her photos to be somewhere green and lush. We found a great spot at Marion Township Park, not too far from the church. We started with bridesmaids and groomsmen photos separate, then the entire bridal party. From there, we took photos of just Macy and Alex – there were so many perfect lighting spots that created beautiful photos!

Part Three: Off to Moeller Brew Barn!

The couple has a tradition in their family – to go to Moeller on wedding days! (Apparently this is also a trend for other Minster weddings!) It was so fun to stop by and see their families interact and talk with one another. They certainly filled the brewery for a short while!

Part Four – Reception Time!

The final stop of our Minster wedding day was Romer’s Catering. Romer’s is a reception hall in St. Henry Ohio, not far from Minster. We started with Intros and their first dance. Then we went into dinner, cake cutting, and toasts! But my favorite part of the evening was taking them outside, going across the street, and capturing some epic sunset photos! This was a great way to conclude the night!
