I was so excited for the big day for Janja and Chris. If you’ve seen my previous blog on their engagement session, you’ll know we had an amazing time! The day itself was a beautiful day in September. Janja and her bridesmaids got ready at the Hilton (it’s attached to Lawrenceburg Event Center) and the guys got ready at a different location.
In the morning we focused on details, getting Janja into her beautiful dress, and a bridesmaids first look! I think these are always fun to do (I’m a big first look fan!) There were some really fun moments in the morning leading up to meeting the guys at the park.
A few blocks down from Lawrenceburg Event Center is the Lawrenceburg Civic park. This is where we planned to do their first look, bridal party photos, and photos of the bride and groom. It was very sunny and finding tree cover was a little challenging – but we made it work – these two are so incredibly photogenic you could put them anywhere!
For the ceremony, we traveled over to the church for a traditional ceremony. It was incredible – the church was spectacular and the bride and groom shared many special moments and memories as they stood at the alter. After the ceremony, the bride and groom greet all of their guests, and then walk outside where coins and candy are thrown! It was fun seeing all of the traditions for their ceremony. After the ceremony, we finished family photos and headed back over to Lawrenceburg Event Center.
We went back to our earlier location and this is where the magic reallllyyy started. Chris and Janja said they wanted sunset photos (yes!) so we stayed just outside of the Lawrenceburg Event Center to do just that. I love when couples want to dedicate time to their portraits – these are the photos you’ll print and frame. We had a blast taking a bunch of photos then went inside for their introductions, dancing, and dinner. Additional traditions were thrown into the reception that were so much fun: a bread dance, Macedonian dance, and also a presentation of a roasted pig to the bridal party and family. The reception was a fun gathering of family and friends and was beautiful to get to spend the day with them! Congrats you two!
One of the great perks about Lawrenceburg Event Center is that they can accommodate very large weddings. Check out their page here!
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in the area, I’d love to talk!
