About Lake Lyndsay

Lake Lyndsay wedding venue is right in Hamilton, Ohio (a suburb north of Cincinnati). Not surprisingly it has a big, beautiful lake (named after the venue owner!) They have been operating as a wedding venue since 1998; their story of how they got started on their about me page is pretty neat – they didn’t start out as a wedding venue, but had several inquiries from couples if they could get married there, so they decided to create different spaces on the property for it.

Lake Lyndsay has three different venue options on their 42-acre property. You can choose between the Lodge, the Beach House, or Kayla’s Korner. This couple chose Kayla’s Korner for their wedding day. The ceremony space is right off the lake and was such a perfect backdrop for these two. I’ll describe more parts of the venue as I show off their gorgeous wedding day below!

About the Wedding

Lauren and Ryan are hands down one of the sweetest couples I’ve worked with. Their wedding day was so special. In my original consultation call with Lauren, we both talked about our love for national parks and being outside. She told me that she chose Lake Lyndsay as a venue because some of the areas reminded her of national park vibes (they have some very tall beautiful trees!) and that was the exact vision she had for her wedding. She really wanted an outdoor ceremony and we were so fortunate, that while rain was in the forecast, it did not end up raining that day!

We started the morning with photos of their details – she chose a nice green (almost a sage color) and peach – I thought these were perfect summer colors. A lot of the details were once again based on the outdoors. The photographs were taken at a private residence. Also her dog was quite the feature of the day! He had a matching bow tie and was so cute!

Next we started with photos of getting ready! This means getting her dress on, jewelry, and shoes. We captured some very sweet moments between her mom and bridesmaids!

Over at Lake Lyndsay, I had my second photographer focus on getting photos of Ryan getting ready with his groomsman. We took these photos right in the reception hall and I think they came out great!

Next we grabbed a few photos of the beautiful Lake Lyndsay venue! I love the cozy vibes of the reception hall.

We then asked the groomsmen to come with us to the lake. There’s a section of the property that you can either walk to, or hop in your car and drive to. The guys photos were fun and of course they had to incorporate bourbon shots!

It was then time for the first look between Lauren and her dad and brother. This was such a super sweet moment! I love sweet family moments. These photos were taken right outside of Kayla’s Korner.

After this sweet moment, we went and did photographs of Lauren and the bridesmaids. I loved these moments between her and her close friends and sister!

I then captured a few of Lauren herself! These photos were taken in the grassy field close to Kayla’s Korner on the other side of the tall evergreen trees!

Typically after we finish bridal party photos, I like to make sure I get lots of details and venue photos, so that’s what we did!

It was now time for their ceremony!! The moment they had been waiting for. Lauren and Ryan chose not to do a first look, so this was the first time they were seeing each other!

And of course their dog was a special guest star as the ring bearer!

After their ceremony, we immediately took photos with the best dog ever!! He was so good!

We then took photos of their family at the ceremony space at Kayla’s Korner. Both of their families were so sweet!

Next up was photos of their entire bridal party! They were all so much fun!

After their bridal party photos we finally got to capture some of just the two of them! It was so special – we only did a few though because we had time set aside for golden hour later that evening and we were not disappointed.

After we finished their photos, it was time to be announced to their reception. Yay! They then went right into their first dance.

We also took some photos of the yummy cake! After dinner, we did their cake cutting!

We started the reception but then stopped for golden hour. And as mentioned we were not disappointed! It was a great way to close out the evening. Lake Lyndsey was the perfect backdrop for them! Look how epic!
