About French Park (Perfect for Weddings & Engagements)

French Park, located in Amberly Village outside of Cincinnati, OH, is a perfect place for weddings and engagement sessions. This blog will highlight a bit about French Park weddings and engagements, the beautiful park itself, and a real actual engagement session that was photographed at French Park in January of 2023. I’m a Cincinnati based wedding photographer and I absolutely love French Park for weddings and engagements! I’ve not yet had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at French Park, but I’ve done so many session there – it’s a perfect spot for an Ohio wedding.

A little bit about French Park: it’s over 275 acres and starts as a great destination for hiking, biking, and general outdoor fun! What’s very picturesque is French House, located right on top of the hill as you drive into the French Park entrance. This is where all the photo magic happens for weddings and engagements! The house was built in the early 1900s and definitely feels like you’re stepping back in time! And it’s surrounded by some beautiful fields (more on that below!) To begin reserving space with French Park, you must contact the Cincinnati Parks Reservation system (website located here!)

About this Engagement Session at French Park

Lauren and Ryan are the sweetest couple! When I first spoke with Lauren, she really wanted to do an epic engagement session at a park. She’s a lover of hiking and national parks, and wanted something with a beautiful backdrop. I listed off a few parks and she loved the look of French Park from the online photos. It was winter (January to be exact) and somewhat chilly, but we lucked out with a beautiful sunny day. She wanted to find a park with some green to it, and luckily French Park has these big, gorgeous pine trees behind the house! There was so much gorgeous light coming through them!

We had a couple themes to their session. First, they brought their dog Banner. He was so good with photos and knew a few tricks! I loved how he sat in between them and listened to all of our prompts! It helped that Lauren brought her sister along to help with Banner, and stood behind my camera to get his attention!

Next we got some more photographs right in front of those beautiful trees! I just loved all the glowy light that was coming through. It really made the photos pop! And the connection these two have is everything!

Next, they put on their jerseys! They are in a household divided (she’s a Bengals fan and he’s a Browns fan!) I loved that they incorporated something like this – it made the session so much fun! We took these out into the photos by the field. This field is very close to French House at French Park and perfect for wedding and engagement photos.

They then got the jerseys off and went back out into the field for some absolutely stunning sunset photos. They did so well and originally told me they were awkward in front of the camera – well not anymore!
