Note: this blog was written in 2021 and includes some of my older work. For my newer work, visit my main page here! Would love to chat if you’re planning a wedding at Drees Pavillion, or any other location in the Cincinnati area!
Prior to heading over to the wedding venue, Drees Pavilion, the bride and groom got ready at separate locations. We had fun with the girls capturing their moments. The bride wore a sweet and darling gown and then we photographed her details (getting jewelry on and such!) My favorite part was the bride’s first look with her father. I love father-daughter first looks – they’re always so sentimental! I definitely recommend it, especially if you and and your father are close.
We then left for the venue, Drees Pavilion. Drees Pavilion is an absolutely beautiful venue situated in Devou Park overlooking downtown Cincinnati across the Ohio River. There are lush and beautiful trees every where and reception hall itself has tons of beautiful, bright windows. This particular wedding took place in the middle of June and it was just an overall beautiful day!
Upon arrival to the venue, we set the stage for the couple’s first look. It was such a sweet moment between the two of them. Once again, can’t say this enough, I love first looks. I feel as though it not only helps the photo timeline, but I just tend to see the nerves melt away once the bride and groom see other. It’s just so lovely and sweet!
We then got ready for the ceremony. It was outside on the pavilion/lawn area. It was a beautiful day and once again, beautiful scenery. I like the wide open space the venue provides. Also, I think this is a good time to comment on the beautiful bridesmaid dresses these ladies wore! I thought the colors looked so nice in an array of blue. As they all walked down the aisle looking absolutely gorgeous! The ceremony had so many funny and sweet moments as they both acknowledged their families coming together. So sweet!
After the ceremony, we took family photos, bridal party, and some additional photos of the bride and groom. They were then introduced into their reception and the celebration between their families and friends was just amazing and fun. The dinner was great as well! Once again, I love this reception hall for all the natural light that pours in! It’s so lovely! As a photographer, I can handle a variety of lighting situations, but I absolutely enjoy the light from the sun filtered in through windows.
Since this was a summer wedding, the sun didn’t start to dip until past 8:30pm. We took them outside one last time for some romantic sunset photos with the Cincinnati skyline in the background.
What a lovely day at Drees Pavilion – enjoy the photos!
