About the Brightside Dayton

The Brightside Dayton is a music venue located near downtown Dayton, Ohio. But, in addition to hosting music events, the Brightside Dayton is also a wedding venue! And it’s a pretty neat and fun one at that! The venue boasts wide open spaces for a reception, and an outdoor and indoor option for a ceremony. There are plenty of spaces for the getting ready parts of the day as well. Consider it a blank canvas of a wedding venue – they have very few restrictions on how you plan for your day!

As quoted on their website, The Brightside Dayton is a “downtown industrial-chic venue without downtown pricing.” One of the most attractive parts about the Brightside Dayton is that you can pick any caterer you want (a lot of venues have restrictions on that!) They also allow you access to their lighting and sound system already setup!

This blog details an incredible real wedding day at The Brightside in October 2023. The couple put a lot of design and work into this venue and I think shows a great way to use the venue space! Note, the ceremony was originally to be held outside on the patio, but due to the cooler weather, the couple opted for the upstairs loft area of the venue. I’ll walk you step by step of this wedding day and I’ll point out all the areas the couple used for their space!

About this Wedding at Brightside

Staci and Nat were a fun couple to work with! Their vision for their wedding day was maximalist (meaning fill all the space!), lots of bright colors, and a fun reception for their friends and family. They both live in Dayton and wanted a venue that represented their hometown and themselves as a couple. I loved all of the styling for their wedding – it was quite a pleasure to capture it all!

I started their wedding day with details (as I always do!) One special part about this day is that Staci personally designed many of the details you see below (including the invitations). So much of the decor planning was done by her, with friends and a couple vendors to assist in its setup. Look how amazing the invitation flat lay photos turned out!

Next, it was time for the getting ready part of the day. I moved into the upstairs area where the girls were. Check out Staci’s beautiful dress! I also captured the groom getting ready as well. Also, we did pajama photos with mimosas (always a must have!) Nat’s window photo was taken in the upstairs loft area.

Next it was time for their first look! We set them up on the upstairs terrace area- check out this fun addition to the Brightside Dayton! Take a look at the fun swing they have out there! It made for some fun photos between the two of them.

Next it was time for their ceremony! This was in the upstairs area!
