Brianza gardens and winery: Engagement session for a Kentucky-based couple at this winery in northern Kentucky.

Part One – Dressy and Neutral

We arrived on a mild-weather fall day at Brianza Garden and Winery for the couple’s fall engagement session to find the beautiful gardens cast in a very sunny glow. I was so excited to start photographing their session! One thing to note about this beautiful venue: if you’d like to take engagement photos in the gardens, you need to call ahead. They use the space for not only providing a beautiful vineyard backdrop but also weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, and other events and parties. They are super nice and happy to work with couples and photographers, so definitely respect their space!!

Sydney and Josh arrived all dressed up – I love how they chose some neutral colors for the first part of their session. We started by picking out a bottle of wine so that we could incorporate that into their photos! We took the bottle and a couple of glasses up to the gardens. The gardens are up a hill and oh my it is worth the tiny climb. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful trees, flowers, plants, and of course the vineyards. There is a super cute bridge area as well. Brianza Gardens and Winery definitely has an amazing space to photograph!

We started taking some photos with the wine and had a blast trying to incorporate that into the pictures. We did a few walking poses and then I turned around and saw the sun had peaked out from the clouds and I told them both – guys get over here!! The sun!! And I think we got some of the prettiest pictures during this part!

Part Two – Casual and Fun

Sydney and Josh changed into their next outfit (by the way I love outfit changes – they are so much fun to see a different vibe come to life!) They opted for jeans with a turtleneck for Sydney and a flannel for Josh. I thought their style added some Kentucky flair to the beautiful country backdrop. Once again, the sun came out and we captured some golden glow with the vineyards in the background. We went back up the hill to the gardens and had fun doing some additional poses that were a bit easy to accomplish in jeans! (think piggy back rides, running, and just general goofiness!) I love bringing out a couple’s personality into their photos.

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite things I get to do – I get to work with couples before their big day and get to know them a little bit better. Needless to say I’m excited for their summer wedding next June! Big thanks to Brianza Gardens and Winery for working with us!
