First off, congratulations on taking this step – that is amazing news! Second, Cincinnati is a great area for proposing to your significant other – there are so many options! That’s why I wanted to write this blog on Best Places to Propose in Cincinnati. First, I’ll walk you through some great options and then I’ll leave you with some tips to consider when planning your proposal in Cincinnati!
Before we get started, I’m a Cincinnati based wedding photographer but I also photograph engagement sessions and proposals! I’ve photographed wonderful couples in many locations in the Cincinnati area, hence why I feel I’ve got a great insight to some of the best places for a proposal in Cincinnati. If you’re considering a proposal, and would like this moment photographed, I’d love to chat with you! View my website here and let’s connect.
This list is in no particular order!
Ault Park is a great park to considering for proposing in Cincinnati. Ault Park is probably one of the best options in the city for photo sessions and has so many great areas in the park. I wrote another blog specifically on Ault Park here as it just has so many beautiful areas of the park.
The photos here are from an actual proposal and I took these shortly after he popped the question!
Devou Park is another great option and one that has quite a view overlooking the city of Cincinnati – picture that for an epic proposal! Devou actually has some great info on their website about proposals here. I love this park and how great of an area it is – I also wrote a blog specifically on the park here.
Washington Park is in OTR (over-the-rhine) Cincinnati, and while a bit more crowded than the other two parks, still has an amazing view of Music Hall. You can check out more information on Washington Park on the blog I wrote here.
This park might be across the river in Covington, KY, but it has a really cool view of the Cincinnati skyline. My only heads up: sometimes parking can be kind of tight but it could be worth it! Check out my blog here that I wrote on this beautiful park.
Now, I’ll start off by saying that the Cincinnati Art Museum does charge for photo sessions (including proposals) but it’s such an amazing option to consider – especially if you two love art or museums! I wrote a blog about them here.
Tip one: Pick something that has meaning to the two of you – especially so she won’t suspect! If you love to hike, walk around parks, go to a bar, etc. then I would try to incorporate something special between the two of you that you love to do. Definitely make sure you check out the best places to propose in Cincinnati list above.
Tip two: Plan ahead! Figure out the date, order the ring, and decide who you want present. Sometimes you may have to coordinate with friends and family. Do you want flowers and candles present? Do you want your dog? Also, consider the time of year and the weather! If it’s winter, it could be snowing. If it’s summer, it could be hot!
Tip three: If she suspects something, have a family member or friend throw her off. You’ll be surprised how many people are ready to help out here!
Tip four: Hire a photographer! Capturing this moment is something special! I work those planning the proposal by picking a location and time of day to coordinate.
