About Laurel Hall

Laurel Hall is truly one of the most spectacular wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. It does not feel like you’re near downtown Indianapolis but rather some epic estate in Europe. I truly love this venue, and recommend any couple in the tri-state area (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana) consider this wedding venue as an option for their wedding!

Laurel Hall’s website boasts about the amazing venue and it’s history. It’s truly a venue that offers “historical charm and vintage appeal.” It was originally built in 1916 by a wealthy family in the Indianapolis area. The ownership changed hands a few times, but now it exclusively operates as a wedding and event venue.

One of my favorite things about Laurel Hall is the different rooms and spaces the venue offers. Each room looks so different and provides so many unique photo opportunities for couples and their bridal parties. This blog is going to walk you through a styled wedding event (or styled shoot). These events allow wedding vendors to get together and collaborate on creating a styled wedding setup where we control the aesthetic, colors, and vibe. This allows us to create art together, create for our portfolios, and of course provide inspiration to real couples planning their wedding!

About the Styled Wedding

As described above, this blog is detailing a styled wedding shoot at Laurel Hall, and the great part about that is that I get to show you the best areas of Laurel Hall! Use this for inspiration if you’re planning your own Laurel Hall wedding!

These photographs were taken in April of 2023, just when spring was about to be in full bloom!

Part One – Outside on the Terrace

The outdoors are breathtaking, simply put. We started with this incredibly sweet couple and a wonderful set of decor. I loved the simplicity of the colors, which just made it all that more elegant. Check out these beautiful blooms as well. Also, I have to add, the light was absolutely amazing here.

Part Two – The Epic Staircase

Our next couple was out on the staircase, and I think this is quite the epic shot when people think of Laurel Hall. I absolutely loved how stunning this was. And once again, another lovely couple to work with as well. We also walked around the side of the mansion for a few other photos of them.

Part Three: Elegant Bridal Sessions in the Sun Room

Next, we worked with two separate brides for bridal sessions. Look how amazing this room is! I loved all the light coming in through the beautiful windows. The floor was so unique as well.

Part Four: Vintage Vibes out Front

To finish off this amazing afternoon at Laurel Hall, we went out front (like, look how amazing this is!) and there was a Rolls Royce (brought in from a local vendor) and a vintage-inspired dressed couple. This was such an incredible way to finish the shoot.
