An overview of a winter engagement session at Keeneland, a great spot for Lexington weddings.
About the Photographer
I’m a Lexington wedding photographer based in Cincinnati, Ohio that covers the additional areas of Dayton, Lexington, and Columbus for no extra charge. I love Lexington, Kentucky. Not only did I used to live there for three years, it’s still a place I love to visit. It’s combination of midwest and southern charm and I love photographing there! But even though I was a resident of Lexington, I never visited Keeneland! When Tamika and Matt suggested this for their engagement session, I was thrilled. Yay – I get to visit here finally!
Interesting fact about Keeneland – it’s open year-round. Guests can walk around (that includes in the stadium and near the track) without issue. Given that it was the middle of winter, this gave us Keeneland mostly to ourselves! (minus another wedding that was taking place that day!)
Another small thing to note is that I really do like winter photo sessions. I know sometimes looking out the window at looking at the dark grey skies, it doesn’t look that appealing. But what I love about it are the clothes and the snuggles! When else can you incorporate your adorable winter coat and cozy scarves? While we didn’t have any snowfall for their session, I always feel that the cold just makes for cozy snuggles and pretty winter coats. So – never hesitate to ask for a winter session or wedding – it’s so lovely in its own way!
Onto talking about these two – talk about a super sweet couple! When they booked me for their October wedding, I was super excited. They’re planning a big Greek wedding! So obviously there will be more to come once we reach Fall of 2022. 🙂 Fun facts about them – they met at a wedding (I just love that) as they both got sat at the singles table. After four wonderful years dating, they got engaged in New York City in Central Park!
As far as outfit choice – I love the direction they went. Tamika looks great in green and her coat was adorable! Matt chose a nice blue and tan combo and their styles provided nice contrast in the photos. When thinking about what to wear for your winter engagement session, I can offer help and input!
